Belorado

Finally managed to get to a 3G phone reception area and fixed the date/
time on the posts so that they reflect what's happening. Hopefully.

A lovelly and very cool morning start today. Kept my jumper on for
the first 10km which is most unusual. Quite warm once the sun came out.

Long straight and a bit boring walk today. Method for long, straight
hills: shorten stride, keep steady pace, think of cool drink at top of
hill. On reaching top of hill: take swig of warm water, catch breath
and mop brow, then pause to admire how much bigger the next hill is.
Repeat.

Reached Belorado just before 2.00pm, decided to go straight to Plaza
Mayor for refreshments before consulting guide about accommodation.
Had decided I wanted more than an albergue tonight, settled on Hotel
Jacobeo - reasonable rates, friendly hosts, comfortable rooms but
quite noisy.

Cheers
John

Hi John,
Mum has just shown me (Cathy) your blogspot on her computer so we thought we'd send you a message.

Well all I can say is what a lucky bloke...twice in one year, that's really something. I think I'll have to start working from home too, I could do with an OS trip but perhaps not a 650km walk, at least not to start with.

Not much news at my house except that Jenni has moved back home so we're back to a full house again.I'm on school holidays so we're off to Ocean Grove for a bit of fishing, walking & mostly eating.

Peter has some news which if he hasn't already told you I'm sure he won't mind me sharing. He & Di have bought a 2 storey house in Point Cook which I've heard is lovely. Mary has won a trip to Japan for selling lots of Japanese sewing machines, She heads off soon with two colleagues, so I hope Tony won't be too jealous. Janine & Frank are renovating their kitchen & even knocked back a weekend away, so they must be keen little renovators. Mum & Dad are doing very well, not bad for almost 80 year olds. (Mum said to say that, I wouldn't be so rude.)I haven't heard from the Millers but I'm sure they're all doing well & are probably spread around the globe somewhere.

Keep up the good work & I hope Gen is recovering well. Much love from Mum & Cathy
